Good news for this momma! Here’s a picture of my daughter:

I have been accepted into a transitional living program here in Kansas City, Missouri for women going through the courts and trying to reunify with their children. This is exactly what I need and have been looking for. I am extremely grateful for this wonderful opportunity.
The thing is, I became homeless in August 2025 and because of homelessness my children were taken out of my physical custody and placed in the foster care system. In court, the goal is for reunification with my 9-year-old daughter. My other daughter is now an adult and will not be coming home.
Journey Out of Homelessness
Unfortunately, the journey toward getting rehoused has been a difficult one. Kansas City has some of the highest rates for homelessness in the whole country. Many people need homeless assistance and there isn’t enough money for help, especially with the budget cuts that have occurred in the government over the past year.
Thankfully, there are organizations here that help women in the position I am currently in. I moved into the transitional living program earlier this week and I am so very excited for this next big thing.

In this stage of my life, I have been working hard on my attitude. I have worked hard to let go of the past and move on.
With this in mind, I am reminded of the following bible verses:
Christ said in Luke 17:32 to “Remember Lot’s wife!”
This is a direct command from God to recall the story of Lot’s wife from the bible. The story of Lot’s wife can be found in Genesis 19 which is about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Accordingly, the angels of God came to warn Lot to flee the city with his wife and two daughters before the destruction begins. The angels were very clear about their warning, telling Lot to leave all material things behind and not to stop, or look back, until safely in the town of Zoar.
Now, I want to emphasize the verse to remember from Genesis 19 is:
“But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.”
Genesis 19:26
Looking forward to what’s next and leaving the past behind is the only way to prevent being stuck in the past, which in turn will destroy you. Holding on to what used to be prevents the opportunities and joys of what’s next in life.
Today has been a good day!
Thanks for reading and I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
