Today’s poetry post was inspired by MLMM Monday Wordle #478 prompt. The prompt of words that inspired me to write the following poem are:

dream, touch, kind, calm, forehead, hand, cool, shared, picture, cheer, want, & before

I used all but two words in my poem. I hope you enjoy it!

Nightmare of Emotion

by Emily Rose

Last night I saw you in my dream

Waking up with feelings so extreme

Crying tears like never before

Grief and sorrow hard to ignore

Remembering your kiss on my forehead

I can’t help but feel misled

Thrown into a future I didn’t want

Still trying to act nonchalant

My heart has lost all its cheer

In time, will this pain disappear?

Boiling emotions should begin to cool

Thoughts should feel less cruel

Please come take my hand

Comfort and reassurance in high demand

Breathing deeply helps me to be calm

When racing thoughts explode like a bomb

Having faith that others will be kind

Heavy heart holding me behind

Humbly my nightmare I’ve shared

Emotions and painful memories declared

Hello Emily Rose. Thank you so much for joining in with the MLMM Monday Wordle this week. Lovely poem. My late parents come to me in my dreams, but not together. I find it soothing, even though I have woken up crying.
    Hope to see you again.
