Welcome to Blossoming Emily Rose, a blog website! This site is about expressing myself and sharing with the world. Everything you read here is me bearing my heart and soul through writing. I write poetry, articles, and blog posts ranging from my personal experiences in life, love, parenting, and health to cats, nature, and spirituality.
I started this site right after I began recovery from having total hip replacement surgery. I’ve had surgeries in the past, but nothing like this one. Nearly all of my surgeries have been due to orthopedic issues and injuries. I have had more than 10 surgeries so far, that are orthopedic related. I plan to write more about other surgeries I have had in the past as well as writing more about my medical journey.
I am a single mom of 2 beautiful daughters. One of which is an adult now, 18, and no longer living at home. My other daughter is 9 years old. We have 3 cats that are our emotional support animals. Inspiration comes from a variety of places for me, but some of my greatest joys come from my home life with my family.
I earned my bachelors of science in Psychology in 2014 and I have two years of social work experience. I worked with disabled youth, for a year, as a skill builder and, for a year, I worked as a program support worker for child protective services. These experiences taught me about empathy, compassion, and how to be tolerant of each other’s differences.
I have lived in four different states, and all three regions I lived in were very different from each other. I was born in Nebraska, and I currently live in Missouri, but I lived on the Westcoast in Oregon for a year, and I lived in Miami, FL for a year. It was wonderful to see another part of the country and experience life in a different way. Living in different places was an adventure and I learned about different cultures and lifestyles. But in the end, I couldn’t see myself living anywhere other than the Midwest for the rest of my life.
This blog website Blossoming Emily Rose will be written from the depths of soul, bearing my heart and mind for the world to read. I want to share my experiences in the hope that my readers will find inspiration and entertainment in my posts.
